In case someone is building a new PC or looking to do in the next few months, seems intel is reacting to AMD Ryzen releaseing two six core CPUs, 8700K/8600K, what remains to be seens is if it will be a new chipset or will they run on Z270/Z170.
Given that its not totally reliable site in terms of news, i kinda think its going to happen as Ryzen seems to offer better CPUs for the money atm, Intel Coffee Lake Core i7-8700K and Core i5-8600K Clock Speeds Leaked – 4.7 GHz For The Flagship on a Single Core, 4.3 GHz Across All Six Cores

Better wait for a more interesting model that's not targeted at first day buyers.
Non-oc, X299 problems, atm some sites report it can use under Win10 just 4 cores/8 threads, ... Best thing I hope for: new chipset - also for xeons.

Re: Six cores coming soon from Intel
This isn't totally unexpected.
* AMD has had consumer grade CPUs with six and eight cores for quite a while now.
* The Ryzen series has raised performance of those many cores quite a bit, and is now really competitive to Intel.
* Intel released the Kaby lake series of Pentium featuring Hyper Threading, effectively putting the Core i3s in limbo.
Confirmed by Intel:
* Next generation Core i7 will be six cores with HT.
* Core i5 will be six cores, no HT.
My speculations:
* Core i3 will be four cores, with or without HT.
* Pentium will be two cores with HT or four cores without HT.
