I am building a quiet headless PC to run daphile using a streacom fc5 case, Asus h310i plus mobo, 250w psu, 8gb ram, gigabit ethernet and i5 8600 CPU. A key requirement is real time upsampling of flac files to dsd512 for output to a USB DAC. The system disk is an Intel m.2 sd600 128gb. Data is a 6tb wd red. It works as expected with the CPU running < 75% but it gets very hot and sometimes hits 80c. I believe this is OK but can someone please advise on the optimum bios settings - there are a lot of additional settings I have not seen before.
Daphile provides some power settings but I think I can achieve lower temps by tweaking settings in the bios.

Welcome to SPCR.
Before messing with the bios, have you ruled out other factors?
- perhaps the CPU heatsink/heatpipes are not seated well. What temps are you seeing at idle/lighter loads? When you stop the application load, does the CPU temp drop drastically, or in a slow manner?
- is the case in a thermally challenged environment? What's the ambient temp?
