As in the topic. I've been a little bit too rough with my laptop and the Toshiba inside didn't take it too well. I'm also looking for a little more speed, hence 5400 rpm.

Size doesn't really matter. I've discovered that Hitachi did make a 20 GB 5400 rpm drive, so that's not really enough, but 40 GB will be fine.

PM with model number and price shipped to N2L 4B8 in Canada, please. I'm not in a particular hurry, so I'll wait a while to see how low of a price I can get.

Still looking for one... it seems that most of the production and therefore retail sales these days is into 80-120 GB category, and that's larger and more expensive than I need. 40 or 60 GB is fine. We've all seen the recommended list.

Anyone?

School's about up for me, if I get a chance and remember I'll check out the Compusa's here in the Detroit area--they've all been sold to the liquidators and are clearancing everything out. Maybe they'll have a notebook drive for cheap.

Waterloo doesn't look too far from Port Huron--I could drive up to Port Huron and throw it across for you.

edit: Newegg has the WD Scorpio 60GB/8MB/5400 for about $57 shipped...they still don't go to Canada do they?

double edit: Hitachi 40GB/8MB/5400 for about $52 shipped also at Newegg. Prices are pretty good for these suckers now.
