If you Froogle "Tagan cs-188af" you'll get 4 hits for under $30 and one for ~$50. The one for ~$50 is real, you can buy it.

The other four are a marketing exercise. If they get enough response, they'll actually order some cases from Tagan (aka Aplus, A+, Xclio, Centerpoint etc). Right now they haven't even placed an order, which is why they don't have (as they admit, although you have to call some outlets to confirm this) a definite delivery date.

One of the four <$30 outlets has $4-$5 cheaper delivery than the others - it's the one with the lowest price. Could be a good deal if they actually get any cases to sell, and if they actually sell at that price.

Newegg sold this case for ~$25, and then for ~$30, but are currently not offering it. I have no idea if they've re-ordered, but probably not since they're selling the "big wart" version (the Xclio Propeller) for big bucks, and wouldn't want the contrast.

[I prefer to use "they" to describe Newegg, even though Newegg is a corporation, and technically "it". ;) There's a lotta people there!]

The consortium of MAC-related sites decided that there wasn't enough demand for the CS-188AF and split the scene.

Although some others have real product for sale, Newegg just sold out for the third time this year! They sold out at $25 (I got two at that price), they sold out at $30, and now they've just sold out at $40. When they get their 4th shipment in, betcha they hang a $50 price tag on it. :D

With most products, popularity results in lower prices. With cases it seems to work the opposite way...

it's a supply/demand thing. atm demand is >supply,so prices rise, but eventually the higher selling prices should entice new mnfr's into the market and prices will fall. in theory.
