Hi nutball thanks for the reply, I am looking to purchase a complete pc system of parts.
I have looked at the sticky but apart from the odd item and fans and cooling their hasn't been any reccommendations since 2005.
I have about 3 or 4 venders in mind which I have priced up from but have not been able to find out what their sevice is like.

Ah OK. Well for myself I tend to use Dabs and I've generally had pretty good service both delivery and returns/replacements, and prices are usually pretty good (I use them a lot through work too, probably done £50k+ business with them over the past 3 years).

Ebuyer has also been OK -- though it does seem to have a bad rep for RMAs, I've never had a problem. For the specialist merchants kustompcs (expensive but good for certain items), specialtech seem OK. I used to use Scan a lot, but after a series of bad experiences in returning DOA goods I decided to take my business elsewhere. I've used novatech on occasions and also had good service from them. quietpc I've found delivery to be a day or so longer than eg. Dabs and they're also rather expensive.

Thanks for that nutball, gives me some to go on.
Have you had any experience or heard anything about tekheads.co.uk or advance tec rochdale.

I can recommend the following as I’ve used them on a dozen or more occasions each over the years:

Scan
Ebuyer
Dabs

And to a lesser extent but only due to not having used them so much:

Microdirect
OverclockersUK
Crucial UK
Komplett

I’ve never had any serious problems with any of them so maybe I’ve been lucky.
I’ve returned goods quite a bit but rarely had to return faulty goods. Scan are below average in terms of delivery times as are OverclockersUK, but only by the odd day here or there, nothing chronic.

Thanks nutball and smilingcrow you have been very helpfull.
I have priced up most of the parts required and Dabs are very similar in price to the other suppliers certainly no more expensive, so I will probably go with them, after your comments. They do not have all the items in stock that I require but I will e-mail them to find out when they will be available.
Thanks again.

I buy from eBuyer 1+ times a week, and I try to buy from Dabs everytime as their service and returns are better, but I buy for price and avalability, so eBuyer usually wins.

I can also recomend OCUK, and Microdirect.

I have had problems with Scan in the past, but I will buy from them occasionaly, also overclock.co.uk (remember it doesnt have the "S"), Komplett, Aria, Misco (once in a blue moon), and a couple of other I use so rarely I cant remember who they are.

Rated by service, Dabs rule the roost, followed by OCUK, Dabs's return policy is done over the net and is a piece of cake.

When you spec up a system, you might want to look at all of those and maybe buy from 2 or even 3 companies, just take the delivery into account, and look at each one, as you will find blinding deals from some companies, such as Seasonic PSU's and AC Accelero coolers from eBuyer, and RAM when offer from OCUK etc etc.

Hi andyb thanks for the input that gives me plenty to go on.
I will give all those recommended a look and check prices. It looks like I wont go far wrong with Dabs or even E-Buyer.
The recommendations will keep me busy for a while thanks again to everyone who has replied.

OCUK = overclockers.co.uk, not overclock.co.uk :)

I know ;)

I was referring to andyb recommending overclock.co.uk - they've recently changed hands after going bust.

No I didnt, Ive only ordered from them once and dont look at their website regularly.

Nutball isnt as nutty as his name suggests, he is quite right. Most people in the uk refer to OCUK as www.overclockers.co.uk

Top hit if you search OCUk on google, and note their logo top left on their webpage.
