Looking for a solid PSU

Post by johnmcc516 » Tue Jul 06, 2004 3:07 pm

I am looking for a solid 400 watt PSU that DOESN'T MAKE A LOT OF NOISE. Any suggestions?

If you had looked, you would've easily seen that the Seasonic Super Silencer Revision A3 comes out on top, with almost zero competition. I would wait a bit until the A3v2 comes out, with a Yate Loon fan that is superior than the SuperRed fan used in the A3v1.

If you can't wait, you can choose the Nexus 4090, which also uses a Yate Loon fan, but is @ 120mm instead of 80mm as the Super Silencer is. I have both, and will be installing the Nexus tomorrow for comparison.

1. 99% chance that you only need a good 300 watt

2. Yes, that's why we have a list named: Power Supply Fundamentals & Recommended Units

Read that, and the linked reviews, and the stickies, and the FAQ, and then start asking questions. You'll get much better input that way, trust. me.
