I have just bought and installed Antecs new Truepower 430W PSU, and Im very please with it. :D

Its really very quiet - MUCH quieter then my old Antec 300W PSU. I currently have a roomtemperatur of 28C, but the back 80mm fan still doesnt go over 1700rpm - even after 1 hour. The 380W version got less favourable ratings in this site because of "unexplained coil buzz", but was probably a bad specimen. I sure as heck dont hear anything like that in my PSU. I can wholeheartedly recomended this one.

Hmm, I wonder why people buy >300W PSUs anyway?

Its always a good idea to deliberately buy an overdimensioned PSU.

My old 300W PSU probably worked about 85-90% of its maximal capacity, which meant that its fan worked att full speed almost from the begining. Lots of strain & noise. My current 430W PSU, by comparison, have a lot more headroom. The strain on the PSU is considerably less, and it can supply your system with more stable current at lesser noise-levels. Finally: if your system demands exactly 280W, then any 300+ watt PSU are gonna deliver exactly that - regardless if its a 300W, 400W or even a 500W PSU. So you dont have to worry about your monthly bills going up. The only backdraw is the higher pricetag on the PSU itself.
