How's the fan noise of APC SMC 1500 compares to SUA 1500?

How's the fan noise of APC SMC 1500 compares to SUA 1500?

I called APC twice this morning. 2 different tech. support person told me 2 different answers. I have an 6 yr. old model from APC. It's the DLA1500 from Dell OEM, but realistically the SUA1500

For my old model, there is a fan inside, but it's never on, it only turns on when it's very hot, say a hot summer day, or it's in battery mode

So when I call them, it says 45 dB at 1 m, and the 1st person said in the old SUA1500, there is a fan and it is always on, but when it's hot, the fan moves to a higher speed, so I can hear it. And the new unit SMC 1500 is the same.

The 2nd person said the old unit doesn't turn on its fan unless it's hot. But the new unit uses variable speed fan, and the hotter it gets, the faster the fan spins.

Is there any1 who owns a APC SMC1500? During normal operation, can you hear any fan noise at all?
