Yeah this really isn't cheap, but considering that the SilentMaxx guys had to use VERY high quality components and that the whole heatpipe stuff isn't too cheap either you might as well call it a 'bargain' since other PSUs like the one from Engelking, which runs fanless for a while BUT has a fan that starts at 45°C for the exact same price (hight quality components here as well... just no heatpipe), come at the exact same price....

So IF I had the mone I would order one RIGHT NOW, since the next production batch is expected sometime in march... so if the silentmaxx store runs out of those little babies there are gone for some weeks.

Did everyone notive silentmaxx is going to show a NEW version of this FANLESS PSU at Cebit?
So one thing is for sure: Completely FANLESS Power Supplies ARE comming :)

Btw. if anyone has problems getting certain info on this unit (because you can't read german e.g.) i might try to help since I'm german.

DAMN it IS expensive.... but woth it :-/

Where can I get one of these?

darklord - thanks for the offer of help! is it ok to pm you ?

ive had problems ordering stuff from Europe before even though im in uk - which i understood was meant to be in Europe

Specifically all online resellers I have tried seem to accept cheques or bank transfers rather than credit cards. Is this common practice ?

I'd say this depends on the country you're ordering from - e.g. here in germany I'd say bank transfers are pretty much common practice.
There are many shops that are specialized or at least have silent-computing equipment over here, and so far none of them has given me any problems... so if there is one specific you are ordering from (e.g. silentmaxx) I could look around and see what experience others have had with that particular shop.

Why did you have to spoil all the fun digtalix...

I should have known this story was to good to be true...However, could you in some way be misstaken digtalix( older version etc etc...)? Well well , some questions for ya!

1. High frequency buzz? Doesnt sound good at all, was it annoying? I mean, could you hear it 3 feet away?

2. What part of the psu didn't fit into the case? The large heatsink didn't come through (ehh..not sure on spelling there) the psu "hole" at the back of the case?

Judging from your comments digitalix, the review at warp2search must be complete rubbish! ex:
*100 hours power test and no errors on a 3 ghz P4, 9700pro
