For a while, I've been set on the 380w version. I didn't go with the 330w because the 380w is supposedly quieter, and I don't think I need 430w (C2D E6300, 7600GT). Trouble is, I can't find the 380 right now, so I may get the 430w.
Question: Will the 430w version use more power (from the wall) and generate more heat than the 380w because it is a larger wattage (despite having the same load)? Or will power draw be the same because of the components?
Thanks!

You can't find the 380w version? Have you tried:
case-mod.com
3gplaza.com
store.newpowersupply.com
directron.com
bestbyteinc.com
zipzoomfly.com
newegg.com
svc.com
censuspc.com
atacom.com
Maybe one of those will be out of stock on it. Maybe even a couple of them will be, but it shouldn't be hard to find it in stock at most of them.
As far as the effeciency issue. I expect it to be similar but I'll be testing a 380 in comparison to a 430 this weekend if it gets here in time. Worst case scenario I'll test it next week. I can't promise SPCR quality noise and effeciency tables but I can do an apples to apples test at a couple of power levels and detail the results of my testing.

Would you like to buy my almost new (less than one month, only used for one week) Newegg-bought Seasonic 430W? $85 shipped. I take PayPal. (I'll post pictures of my comp with Antec NeoHE 430 later).wowimsocute wrote:For a while, I've been set on the 380w version.
