Modding an Antec Truepower 430W

Post by Zergling » Thu May 01, 2003 5:58 pm

I opened my Antec 430W and voided the warranty, there are two Dynaeon fans inside, one 92mm, 3000rpm, 35dba and the other 80mm, 3000rpm, 33dba and 27.5CFM, I am wondering if I can swap in two panaflo L1A's, My system needs very little power, Celeron [email protected], GeForec2, 512Mb RAM, 1 hard drive, CDRW and a few fans. I also applied some superglue to secure a few inductors, which I think is the culprit for the buzzing noise. Any thoughts?

As long as you have good case airflow, I don't see any problem with replacing the old fans. Heck, you're drawing so little power, I'd just stick with a single fan. Cover up the hole left by the 92mm fan and twist the vertical grills on the intake 90 degrees for less airflow restriction and you'll be laughing!

You'll be fine. Take out the 92mm fan all together...
