Kamariki 4 Power Supply Series

The new Kamariki 4 PSU is available in a Plug-in (modular) version with detachable power cables and also available in a standard version in 450, 550, and 650W models. Original Scythe Kaze Jyu 100 mm fan is used to assure efficient cooling. It is possible to connect up to 3 case fans to the Intelligent Fan Cable Connecter which will then adjust the fan speed according to the load of the Power Supply. Case fans can be connected directly or via the supplied modular fan cable. In order to comply with market demands and the GreenIT movement, Scythe Kamariki 4 PSU Series are fully conform to 80Plus Standards (20/50/100% system load).

The 550 W model seems interesting.

Indeed 550 looks nice. 450W isn't too bad too and maybe slightly more effective on low loads than 550W version. Not too many computer's draw over 450W's easily...

Connectors:
(...) 1 x PCI-Express (...)

What?! Only one PCI-E connector?! O.o

Heaven forbid if they remove one of the SIX molex connectors (what is this? 2004?) or one of the EIGHT SATA connectors.

I'm seriously dumbfounded by the sheer stupidity of that decision.

Hey, not everyone uses six Molex or eight SATA (what is this? 2012?)

Love the way how you can plug fans directly to the PSU, eliminates the need for Molex adapters and should make up for a tidier system.

Yes because the world needs MOAR molex connectors. It's not like there is SATA, oh wait.

Errr... which decision? There are several decisions, many stupid some sane.

- one PCI-E = stupid
- six Molex = stupid. Molex is stupid, it always has been. I want to walk up to Mr Molex and punch him in the goolies everytime I have to deal with one of his so-called connectors. Six is stupid, one would be enough, two would be enough to show that they want to appeal to people with connector envy.
- eight SATA = good idea! Maybe that'll make this PSU good for a storage box without having to use stupid Molex-> SATA power connectors that crap out and turn your hard-drive off halfway through a write operation?! For the record, SATA power connectors suck, I want to walk up to the SATA Power Connector Design Working Committee and punch them in the goolies (and gooliettes, for the ladies) every time I have to deal with one of their so-called connectors. Nevertheless we're stuck with their suck, and they are the immediate future, so more = better.
- one PCI-E = stupid, in case I didn't mention that already :)
