SilenX PS, which is the top and bottom for installation?

Post by Bluehinder » Sat Jun 14, 2003 1:57 pm

HI,

I know this is stupid, but I'm installing a 400 watt SilenX ps into a Coolermaster 110, and it fits either way.

Should I install the ps so that the circuit board is on the bottom (heatsinks up)? This puts the wiring harness to the front of the case. Putting the pcb to the top, with the hs on the bottom puts the wiring harness to the back of the case. (This is better)

There is a little flange on the case, is this the top or bottom?

I figured the pcb belongs on the bottom, hs on top, keep heat off the pcb as much as possible.

Does any of this matter? :)

Feel very stupid, please advise.

thanks

Doesn't it have holes on only one side inside the case?

When I installed my new Nexus 300W recently I had to put it upside down so to speak. This was to make the holes point down at the CPU.
