I'm looking to build the quietest system possible and am wondering which one of these 2 power supplies would be quieter.
- PC Power & Cooling MK III Silencer 1200
- Kingwin LZP-1000
The latter got reviewed by SPCR and got fantastic marks. I believe the former is also made by SuperFlower. However, I'm not sure if they both have the same fan, if they both feature the same fanless operation until the internal temp is at a certain level, etc.
Basically, a fanless power supply as often as possible would be best. Therefore, if one starts at 50 degrees and the other starts at 55, that's a big difference.
Thanks in advance, guys!
Which of these 2 power supplies would you buy?

What's your system build?
Re: Which of these 2 power supplies would you buy?
i7 3770K CPU
Noctua NH-C14 heatsink
90gb SSD from Corsair
2tb Seagate 7200 RPM HD
Sapphire fanless RADEON HD 6790
Kingston 16gb (4x4)
Gigabyte Z77X-U3DH
Just ordered the Kingwin LZP-1000.
Took too long to get any input and figured that I'll simply send it back if it's not my cup of tea. Was hoping to avoid forking over that much as it's the most expensive PSU I've ever bought, bar none! I'll let you know how it turns out.

A 400 W PSU should be more than enough for that setup, see http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/graphi ... b-review/2 or http://www.legitreviews.com/article/1585/14/, allowing you to save some money.Strat wrote:i7 3770K CPU

The reason I ask about the build is 9 out of 10 times the user over-specs the PSU. Your stressed load is < 275W. You could have bought the LZP-550 and it would have been silent for all apps.
