PSU Temps Poll

Post by dago » Wed Jul 23, 2003 10:54 pm

I've just modded my Sonata PSU and was wondering : what are normal PSU temps ? What are your temps ?

For me, with ambiant in the room at 28+°C, I've got exhaust air temp of around 32°C and temperature inside the PSU (heatsinks, ...) ranging from 37°C (rear heatsink) to 49°C (hottest)

I've now found that the nexus or seasonic operational temp ranges are 0-50°C ... well, not good ... ?

Anyway, if you've measured sometimes your PSU (exhaust and/or inside) temps, I'll be interested.

I believe those operational temp ranges refer to ambient temps

I use the highly scientific 'hand behind psu' temperature measuring method.. ambient temp is 27*C,MB temp is 32*C, and the air coming out of my enermax 350w (single panaflo L1a, controlled by psu @ ~5-7v) is probably about 30-35*C, it is barely warmer then the ambient air

Hi!

Here with Enermax PSU I have mobo temp 32 C, PSU exhaust 34 C.
Another PC with Zalman PSU mobo temp 27 C, PSU exhaust 39 C.

It appears that Zalman has higher tolerance for the temperature set but it is also much quieter...
