I remember MikeC told me a few days ago that Active PFC Seasonic PSUs were slightly louder than those with Passive PFC. I understand you can identify which you have by a small sticker on the back of the Actice PFC PSUs.
Well, I bought my Seasonic OEM from www.koolnquiet.co.uk and it doesn't have a sticker on the back, but I seem to remember that it is Active for some reason. Is there any other way of finding out which I have?
The reason I ask is that the fan is fairly loud even though the exhaust air is very cool.
Any thoughts?

right - the noise difference is caused by the fan: the non-PFC version uses a sleeve bearing fan which is quieter by maybe 2-3 dBA. The APFC version uses a ball-bearing fan... Altho, as I noted in the new Super Silencer 400 review, the FS series PSUs have recently had their fans changed to the new SuperRed brand fan used in the Super series. The new fan is about as quiet as that sleeve bearing fan.davidhooper wrote:Aha, I have no 115/230 switch. So I've active PFC right?
