Hi, this is a little pool to help me decide what PSU to get:

ANTEC PSU 750W 12CM ATX 80+ EPS CABL.MAN

CORSAIR PSU TX V2 750W 14CM ATX2.31 80+
CMPSU-750TXV2EU

CORSAIR PSU 750W 14CM ATX12V2.3 80+GOLD
CMPSU-750HXEU

Corsair Professional Series Gold AX750 - Power supply ( internal ) - ATX12V 2.31/ EPS12V 2.92 - AC 90-264 V - 750 Watt - active PFC - Europe
CMPSU-750AXEU

I would be thankful for another silent no coil whine PSU 650W - 750W recommendation, but these are the ones I can order in my area.

Antec TruePower New 750 and Corsair AX750 - no coil whine here (EVGA P55 SLI and MSI P55M-GD45 boards).

TP750 is the quietest PSU I've ever had, compared to:

Antec Earthwatts EA430
Antec Earthwatts EA500D
Seasonic S12-330
Corsair VX450

The Seasonic and Corsair both had a little coil whine (not much), the Earthwatts had fans that were loud enough to mask any.

I'm glad to hear that your TP750 has no coil whine and is quiet. Apparently another guy here had bad luck cause 2 units in a row show coil whine.

I know you are an amazing company, but how do you explain the same problem happening twice with my Antec TruePower New 750 bought from Newegg? I RMA'd with Newegg, and still has the same problem, but it is not as loud.

On corsair page forum there is even sticky thread that says to turn off C1E (Cpu power save mode AFAIK) that solves this issue under load etc. Well I don't think that's normal. A top level PSU like corsair gold AX750 or TP750 needs to be build like a tank, and not have issues that cheap PSUs does not have !

And corsair blames high PSU efficiency on coil whine - come one corsair sue intel then for bad MB design or whatever.

Here are some other thread I found about corsair PSU coil whine, maybe they will help someone.

http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=91273
http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=92896

Also it's strange because corsair on their AX750 has different design than say Antec TP750. They have single 12v rail and less parts (coils too) so how then users report problems with them?

Does the fan on TP750 start on cold PSU or like Corsair / Seasonic on 20% load etc.?
One thing I hate about TP750 if you look inside the coils have no shrink tubing on them, that means they could whine after some usage like 6 months, a year etc. Even cheap Chieftec puts shrink tubing on coils so why Antec doesn't?

Furthermore all coils for better air flow should be instead coated with lacquer not shrink tubed etc. But even hand twisted coils in PSU's have no lacquer coating - it's cheap if you ask me for a flagman PSU of any company.

Yes, the fan is always on but inaudible in operation below 300W.

I wonder why seasonic placed capacitors so near the heatsink?

Wouldn't this be a bad idea and shorten the caps life?
