i'd like to use electrodacus' 130w winmate psu to power my computer. here are the parts:
- gigabyte h55n-usb3 motherboard
- intel i3 530 cpu
- 2x4gb generic ddr3 ram
- radeon 5750 passive
- corsair 128gb ssd
- generic sata dvd burner
in terms of wiring, the plan was to get a 1-in-2-out sata power splitter (here
) and a 2-molex-in / 1-pcie-6-pin-out adapter (here
). the psu's 20-pin and 4-pin aux would go to the motherboard, the 2 molexes (one on the psu, one split off the 20-pin cable) would power the 5750 via the 6-pin adapter, and the sata power from the 20-pin cable would be split between the dvd burner and ssd.
does this sound like an awful idea to anyone? i think a fully loaded i3 530 + radeon 5750 will push 100 watts, but i really want to make this happen. the antec neo he 550w i'm running now has a horrific coil screech when drawing less than 70 watts or so, i want to be rid of it.
