Worth trying to replace PSU fan?

Post by mejobloggs » Tue Jan 17, 2012 6:34 am

I've just built a new system with an OCZ ZS 550W. Unfortunately the PSU is a lot louder than I expected and it's driving me nuts.

How hard would it be to replace the fan? And what fan would be suitable?

Or would it be better just to onsell it and buy a new PSU?

I can give some general advice. The review at jonnyguru commented on the loudness of the oddball 135mm size fan. The review photo of the fan does show that it is a standard 2 wire fan and some people would experiment with putting a resistor in the red wire to drop the voltage.
