Hey guys, I need a new Power Supply. The current one I have makes too much noise. I think it's more electrical noise than fan noise. In any case, can u guys pls recommend me the most quiet power supply for my needs. Basically, I want minimum 480W power supply & my specs are as follows:

Check SPCR Recommended Power Supplies, if i were going for a close to 480W Quiet PSU, i would go for either of the following,

Personally out of the above, i would go with Seasonic 560W 80 Plus Gold ATX 12V/EPS 12V Power Supply - X-560 SS-560KM, i had very good experience with 2 of their X series, its the cheapest of all, fully modular, single 12V rail, passive under light load and very quiet under heavy load, has great reviews from very trusted website, almost perfect user reviews in amazon/newegg, but i would buy it from amazon has it at the same price as newegg but with free shipping.

Heights is the same, length/depth shoudlnt matter as you have a lot of space still before the 5.25, the only difference is the width (0.4''), but if you check kingwin and enermax, all 3 PSU with the seasonic have 5.9''. In both of my builds, i had no issues with mounting X440 (solo II) and X660 (TJ08E), so i think you should be fine as long as you have the space for the width of the PSU, but i dont own your case so i cant say for sure.

Well its a pretty good price for 750W PSU, the X6X series is the newest, but the reviews for all X series been really good regardless, i dont think you need 750W PSU, but you could see it as an investment for the future... idk, its up to you, $5 is very low and this one has free shipping, so at the end since you like newegg is even cheaper than X560.

Just a warning before you buy, there are some users that have experience buzz or coil noise with Seasonic X series, my experience has been perfect with both, no noise or issues at all, but you never know, its best for you to know there is a risk before you buy it, if you wish to read more about it, check X-400 buzz noise, you can also see it in some user reviews in newegg, but its not present in most cases, it seems very low the number of people that had bad luck, but for this why suggested the other 3 PSUs.

Hey Abula, I decided to go with the SeaSonic X750.

I just finished installing it, & under the cpu fan, case fan, & video card fan, I don't hear the PSU at all
I would say my rig is about half as loud as it used to be.

Nice that it worked out for you, now its back to the original price, so was a good buy. You have good psu for years to come, should hold any upgrade you do for some time. The PSU is very quiet even under load, now if you want to make your system more quiet, identify where your noise is coming and start undervolting or replacing fans, etc.

Yea tell me about it... i have 2 useless velvet bags, i would have preferred $5 less on the price or extra cables, its unnecessary, but its a nice psu.

Hey abula, after installing the SeaSonic PSU, I checked the noise from all my cpu parts. Motherboard is silent. The video card & hard disk are pretty quiet. I disconnected 1 of 2 case fans. I hooked up a fan controller on the other one & reduced it's rpm by half. The only thing that is loud in my tower now is my cpu fan. I had a Zalman cpu fan in my old rig that was cool & quiet & was thinking of getting another one for my current setup. However, there are a few on newegg & I am not sure which is best.
