hi silentpcreview. after staring at text for the past couple of days i am turning to you for help.

what i am looking for is a power supply that is 140mm in length. it needs to be very quiet.

i am using this pc case. http://www.lian-li.com.tw/v2/en/product ... =63&g=spec
and this mb. http://www.gigabyte.com/products/produc ... x?pid=4337

i plan to run the psu well under its load capacity and thereby hopefully the fan will never have to switch on. i have calculated an approximate power consumption of 221W using this page. http://www.coolermaster.outervision.com/PSUEngine

i have found a lot of psu that will work nicely however they are all usually bigger than 140mm.

i would prefer not to go for a fanless psu with this case.

can anyone recommend anything to me? or better yet does anyone have this exact lian li case and nice quite psu in it?

thanks in advance.

Maybe not what you are looking for, but something you can consider.

That case is much easier to work with if you use a SFX power supply. This one is quite quiet, but falls behind larger PSU in terms of acoustics.

My recommendation is Seasonic 360W 80PLUS Gold ATX12V Power Supply SSR-360GP

According to Seasonic Webpage the Seasonic G360 is 140mm in length (the hardware secret review below also confirms it)

Has gotten great reviews, including SPRC editors choice,
SPCR Seasonic G360 PSU: High efficiency & performance, low price
JonnyGuru Reviews - Seasonic G Series 360W
Hardwaresecrets Seasonic G-360 Power Supply Review

The only issue that i do see is that case is very small, and this PSU is not modular so you will need to put some effort into the cable management, but i doubt you can beat the G360 for the price and that complies with your length needs.
