Recommended Efficient External AC-DC Adapter (100W - 120W)?

Post by onlinespending » Fri Apr 05, 2013 2:45 pm

I'm looking for a 12V - 19V high efficiency (>89%) external power brick that can supply 100 - 120W. I have the GS120A12-R7B, but that is 87.5% efficient and more importantly uses a 4-pin mini-din type connector, as opposed to the 2.5mmx5.5mm barrel type connector that I need. The GS90A19-P1M looks like a great candidate (it's 89% efficient at 19V) and has the right connector, but has low output current for my needs (sadly, my computer idles well below 90W, but because I cannot enable staggered spin-up the initial current demand on bootup is quite high when all hard drives are powered up). Plus it's hard to find and expensive.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Search the forum for Dell DA-2. You will likely have to solder a different connector onto the leads though.
