Hi all, I'm rearranging some PCs and have the chance to replace my media server's PSU with one of these:
- Antec HCG620-M
- Corsair TX650(V1)
- Corsair CX500
Questions are:
1. Which one is better (quieter) unmodded?
2. Which one is quieter replacing the stock fan? (seems HCG620 is out of the question, I don't have any spare 135mm fan).
TIA!
HCG620 vs TX650 vs CX500?

CWT design, nothing special, middle of the pack for noise.Xyvotha wrote:- Corsair CX500
They're both based on the Seasonic S-II design, the Antec is modular. If there are a lot of connectors on the Corsair you don't use, cable Management with the Antec will be easier. Of these three I would choose the Antec.Xyvotha wrote:- Antec HCG620-M

Are those the only PSUs available? Newer models like the Seasonic G series cost roughly the same as the above models and are better electrically and acoustically.

thanks for the info!
I have only those available because I'll swap them between PCs I already have.
I find the TX650's fan is the loudest component in this server, replacing that to a nexus would help? or would the HCG-620M be a better choice?
