500W "Titanium" efficiency PSU: Andyson N500

Read the review at Anandtech.

Andyson claims that this PSU has been certified 80 Plus Titanium, but it doesn't appear in the 80 Plus database. From Anandtech's measurements it looks great efficiency wise, but Anandtech tests at 230W. So it remains to be seen whether this PSU would actually pass 80 Plus's 110V bench test.

At any rate, it's great to see manufacturers innovating in this market segment, because I think my head will explode if I see another 800+ W PSU.

Anandtech:
Technically, only the 700W unit of the series has an official 80Plus Titanium certification so far.
Yep, only the 700W is certified, so far.

I loved the low conversion loss at low load. 5W loss is best in class.

I think there are now a few more Titanium PSU's - Corsair has a 1500W unit (!!), EVGA has a 1600W unit (!!!). Obviously, these reach the Titanium rating partly by being very high wattage, making the 10% output rating a lot easier to meet.

At least in western Europe, there is one Titanium certified unit on the market under 1kW: the 850W Super Flower Leadex Titanium (SF-850F14HT). The current retail price is about $240 USD. If Andyson succeeds in mass producing its N500, perhaps we will see this "titanium" unit for under $100, which would be a quite reasonable price premium over the $90 Cooler Master V450S, the current low-load efficiency king.
