Hello,

saw this in SR-forums (Kudos to Sen of SR fame):

Seagates info page, 80GB per platter, 40GB per side.
http://www.seagate.com/cda/newsinfo/new ... 65,00.html

Price:
10,980 Yen or US$93

Finally coming to market (Well, Akiba is the place to see new stuff, usually some months before hitting mainstream retailers). Something funny though, no SeaShield! Hmmm... And the fact that this is just the plain vanilla IDE version. Hmmm...

And while we are at it:

Why on earth we can´t have the Serial ATA drives right now! Puhleeeeazhe!!! Are they being shipped in larger quantities to OEM market before we consumers get to buy them? I just wonder... :(

:x I'm very disappointed with Seagate about this one. Some aspect of that seashield better be integrated into the metal casing! Why do I always feel like manufacturers are always cheaping out on us?
