IBM 180GXP or Seagate Barracuda IV?

Post by feldt » Sun Jan 26, 2003 2:46 pm

I have a Seagate Barracuda IV 80GB and I'm very happy with it. Silent and no problems.

Now I need more room and IBM 180GXP seems to be even quieter at a somewhat better price (here in Sweden at least).

Anyone have tried the 180GXP? How noisy is it? Have you heard the Cuda IV and compared?

Any info appreciated. I'm thinking about getting the 120GB IBM in case there are differences between the differently sized ones (there might be since I think only the 180GB one has 8MB cache).
