suspended SCSI drives

Post by pgmlinux » Sun Feb 02, 2003 3:46 pm

Would of never thought of doing this if it wasn't for this form. :D

A couple of rubber bands, and the vibration noise is *voila* -- gone.
Unfortunately, so is my Seagate drive. I think I shorted electronics with the position of the rubberband (I thought it was non-conductive). Ah well, it's only data I need to recover as I have new drives.

Also added foam to reduce the high frequency pitch. My wife says it's quieter. I never argue with her.

I have pics, but seems there is no way of attaching this here.

Sorry to hear your drive crashed on you. Always shitty when that happens.

Btw, if you want to post pics, here's how to do it : http://forums.silentpcreview.com//faq.php#24

Cheers!
