Limiting cd-r spinning speed

Is there some kind of acustical managment tool for cd-r stations? I don't care if my performance falls, but I would like it to spin a bit slower...

Does not work with my DVD player, but does work with my CD-R

Nero has some feature to do this, but it does not work with all drives

If you have a Plextor drive, you can use plextools, which can change speed. I have mine running at 4x at the moment, and rarely hear it.
