Hi,
I use windows xp. I also use revosleep as I have an IRAM as the c drive and a samsung HD.
Revosleep does what it is supposed to do and turns off the samsung HD.
It literally turns off the HD. When I touch it, it is stone cold and no vibration.
Most of the time, like now, I surf the web, so I don't need the HD.
However, when I go to STANDBY and then resume from standby, the second hard drive turns on. I have to manually turn revosleep off, then turn it on.
I know it is on even though Revosleep says off, b/c when i touch it I can feel heat and vibration.
Is there a registery hack or setting in the control panel, so that when I resume from standby, the HD stays turned off?
to use an analogy, I had a USB powered hub that did not wake up when I resumed from standby. I found that going to control panel, USB driver, click power management, the USB hub DID resume and power when I resumed from standby.
With the HD I want to do the reverse. I want it to remain turned off.
I visited the Revosleep forum, and this is a well known problem with revosleep, with no solution. For me the solution is to prevent the HD from waking up on standby.

Great tool! But would it be possible, that the harddisk automatically falls asleep again after the PC awakes from Hibernate/Standby?

use Hibernate Trigger http://www.desimonesystems.com/suspendtrigger/index.php and restart revoSleep.

Ach, du sprichst ja Deutsch, dann ist es einfacher:
Das klappt bei mir nicht. Denn Revosleep ist ja nach dem Aufwachen nach wie vor aktiv. Wenn ich es vorher über das Hibernate-Tool mit Taskkill beende, wird nach dem Aufwachen die Problemfestplatte aber nicht mehr gefunden, aber ihr Motor läuft...
Gibt es eine Lösung für das Problem?

Sorry for not replying in German (I understand what you write, but suck at writing it myself).
Killing the Revosleep process is not enough, because it does not restore the drives to the "normal" state. Therefore there will be problems even though you use Hibernate trigger to restart Revosleep.
You must close Revosleep in the correct way, before putting the computer to sleep. As there is no commandline support yet, this is a manual task Traurig .
I have made a script, using VistaTask, that can do the trick, but it will only work on computers with a similar setup as mine, as it uses graphics recognition to find and close the Revosleep taskbar icon.
I think I have read a thread on this forum, where they tried to use mountvol (or something like that) in kombination with killing the Revosleep process.

Hallo,
leider ist der von revolver unten gepostet link down. Habt ihr dazu noch einen anderen link?
Mir erging es genauso wie Eeyore und Michael es schrieben, nach dem standby ist revosleep zwar noch aktiv, aber die Festplatte läuft auch.
Mit der Windows Aufgabenplanung ist es mir gelungen, dass revosleep automatisch beim systemstart startet und die platte runterfährt. (http://www.planet3dnow.de/vbulletin/sho ... p?t=380799)
Ähnliches (http://www.tomshardware.de/techsupport/ ... andby.html) hab ich beim Standby probiert, aber nichts hat funktioniert.
Für das runterfahren der Platte ist ja unter Aktion /CQ/HIDE einzutragen. Als gegenteil für das starten der Platte, wenn das System in den Standby geht, habe ich /CQ/SHOW verwendet. Ist das richtig?
