Eventually the recent Intel 320-series SSD "8MB" power cycle issue seems to have been addressed by the manufacturer (and I hope the same could be also for the current Sandforce SF-22XX so-called "BSOD" issue):

It is good to see Intel have fixed this one, but it seems they are starting to get a reputation for firmware bugs.

I don't know reputation. Almost every single ssd consumer class has had firmware bugs. Intel has had 2 major ones. Indilinx has had them, Sandforce has had a ton of them. It's just teething issues with new tech that's also budget.

Your notation could seem rather ungenerous: first of all 'cause Intel SSDs are the most reliable on the market, and by far, since 2008.
Secondly as the former quoted bug is a very old one, belonging to the previous generation SSDs, so totally unrelated (and - according to me - not very informative, consequently).
Last but not least, as the 8MB issue was a rather important one, so its relatively quick solving is a very good news: but I mean you know it.

Just because my post doesn't smack of fanboyism doest make two instances of firmware related data loss something to be wary of. And I will reiterate my first post "It is good to see Intel have fixed this one" in case quest_for_silence wants to call me ungenerous again.

Just a side note, Dirge.

As english isn't my first language, it's very likely that I can misunderstand any of you.
By the way, as far as I know you have not posted a fact, just an opinion, or an interpretation of a fact: therefore I think you have to deal with other people opinions about your own thought (and not just about you: moreover, please note my use of conditional tense, of the verb "to seem", of the adjective "ungenerous" - compared with "fanboyist"-, and so on).

For anyone who hasn't yet bought one, it's still a good idea to wait a few more months in case the new firmware has its own issues.
