I thought SSDs were meant to be silent, but I have just come across a review of a Fujitsu notebook that complains about the high frequency chirping noise emitted by its Toshiba Solid State Drive.

Can anyone provide feedback about which SSDs are quiet and which ones are noisy?

Re: Quiet/Noisy SSD Survey
A couple of my Intel X25-M SSDs do tend to squeal under load. Not something you'd notice if the drive is in a PC, but in a laptop it might be noticeable.
Re: Quiet/Noisy SSD Survey
There is a thread around here all about the noise emitted from one or more of the Intel SSD's.
I however have not heard a thing from either of mine. A 64GB Crucial M225, and a 120GB Corsair Force 3.

Re: Quiet/Noisy SSD Survey
Never heard anything from either of my intel SSDs (G2 80go and G2 160Go)
Re: Quiet/Noisy SSD Survey
Neither X25-V nor M4 made a molecule of sound.
Re: Quiet/Noisy SSD Survey
My Intel 320 120GB emitts some kind of high frequency noise during wrtitng of large files. It's not very annoing though, even if it's clearly audible.
