Well I just upgraded my system drive to an Intel 520 240GB, and added that 3TB Seagate STM3000D01 - so I benched all of my HD.
the Samsung H103SJ is the oldest, and was my system drive until this week, going to retire it to the external eSata dock as one of the drives that I turn on occasionally for backing up to
The 2TB Samsung ECO green F4 will remain in that role as well.
The Seagate surprised me with it's speed! Almost last gen SSD like apart from the slow access time. I wasn't able to reach these speeds on my other X58a-UD3R motherboard - the curve was flat for the first half, so it looked to be bandwidth limited. But here on the Asus P9X79 in AHCI mode on the SATA2 3GB interface it's quite a bit faster.
SSD power - I guess the first half being filled makes it slower - sure not getting the 500+ that is quoted in the specs. But Windows loads so fast, when the desktop shows, from a few minutes to mere seconds now - well worth the $$$$
Samsung HD103SJ 1TB - not too bad, still fairly quick over the first half

Backing up my 130GB OS partition from a Samsung 1TB HD to a 2TB F4 used to take about 25-30mins at 85-100mb a second with standard compression, with the fastest software for such - Shadow Protect.
The same from the Intel 520 SSD to a 3TB Seagate does it in 8-10mins at 150-160mb a second with high compression
So I actually back up more often and it's no longer annoying
