edit: My bad. I thought WD put their own drives in the My Book Essential 4TB. Turns out they ship with noisy Hitachi drives for now..

Thanks man, you just solved a real dilemma and thing i've been really heavily concerned about for me, IE the availability of the allegedly more rugged red drives in 4-5tb sizes. Hard drive space is a major concern for me, i store all my (legit, but ripped by me so i can put the discs away safely) media on hard drive, and have been stuck on what drives to get, for lack of a roadmap of the release dates upcoming drive sizes
