Interesting but I just checked and https://www.samsung.com/us/support/owne ... 7PC128N/AM shows the last firmware update for the 830 SSD as Jan 19, 2012

Also https://www.samsung.com/us/support/owne ... Z-7PD256BW shows the last firmware update for the 840 Pro as Dec 13, 2012

The page you linked to has updated 2013 firmware for the 840 and 840 Pro but not the 830 (which is still and always will be stuck on the Jan 2012 firmware).

The contents of the 840 pro firmware are dated May 7th 2013 so it appears they may have been there for a few days but they aren't linked to from the support download page for specific drives yet.

Don't know if that is a support decision (not fully recommended for all users) or just a web admin being slow to update the site.

Those other links go to their online shop so I'd see it as fairly normal for them to lag behind a little compared to the support pages.

Anyway, interesting to see updates even if my 250GB 840 has been so solid I just should not bother. But I will at least have a peek at the latest companion software version, last I used Samsung Magician it was at version 3. Edit: Oh, some definite updates there in the software. Nice.

Oops! Right about the 830. I was in a hurry...

Changed the topic name.

I just had my Samsung 840 Pro delivered last week. I used Magician 4.0 to check for a firmware update and at that time it said it was current. Checked yesterday and it updated.

There is a small issue if one uses the ISO to update: http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2319601
