XP-90 in a Asus P5N Sli/E6600/Antec Solo machine?

As the subject says, I currently have a core 2 duo E6600 with an Asus P5NSli motherboard, insde an Antec Solo case. I'm currently using the stock cooling that came with the E6600. To give you an idea, according to Everest the CPU idles around 42C and 50C at load. According to Asus Probe, the stock fan sits around 1500rpm at idle and 1700rpm.

I'm thinking of replacing it with an XP-90. There are clearance issues with the xp-120, its more challenging to install, and I'm not sure if I really need the additional cooling power of the xp-120.

At any rate, does this make sense? And do you think there'd be any concern about a Nexus 92mm at 12V, which blows 27CFM, not being able to provide enough cooling compared to other fans that are more like 40+ CFM.

I think you should be absolutely fine, unless you intend significant overclocking - have a look at Mike's review of the XP-90, where he used a Pentium 2.4C for the test. The CPU's TDP of 66W is about the same as your Conroe (65W), so you should see similar results to his.

A totally different mobo, but similar heatsink: I had all kinds of space on the Intel 975XBX with the SI, not XP, 120.

As far as your temps go, they're not too far off from my 6600/SOLO.
