Hi all, im looking to buy a TRUE 120 and im curious to no what CPU temperatures people are getting.

So could everyone that has a TRUE 120 post there temps?
Could you please post you CPU, clock speed, fan, and RPM?
Thanks

A little info - posting Core 2 Duo processors temperatures is pointless. The temperatures can't be compared between different C2Ds because the only way to get real temperature is using an external thermometer, and it will still be just the temp of the surface, not of the cpu itself.
The temperatures reported by software is merely a reading of how much there is left until thermal control ciruit activation (throttling). The TCC activation temperature is calibrated individually for every cpu during the manufacturing process, thus comparing them is impossible.

I'm using an Asus P5K motherboard with a 6850 processor, not overclocked, with a TRUE120. I'm using an Artic Cooling AF12025 PWM fan on it which has always run at it's minimum 440 rpm speed, both at idle and under full load testing. Idle temps are typically 35C and full load is about 50C. I think the TRUE120 is overkill unless you want to run fanless, and it was a VERY close fit in my Antec Solo case. If I was building again I wouuld try a smaller cooler like the Ultima 90 instead.

Asus P5k, Q6600 G0 @ stock speed (2,4ghz) and of course the TRUE 120.
I have 1 intake fan, 1 on the HS and 1 exhaust. Another one on my 8800GT, but that shouldn't really affect things that much.
All fans are Nexus Real Silent fans, soon to be replaced by Scythe Slipstreams though.

Under full load and all fans at 600RPM my CPU gets at max 58C, which is more then acceptable. With fans at full speed (1000RPM) and on full load it gets 49C.

Idle (normal use) it gets 42C with fans on low and 37C with fans on full.

a little diffrent setup but maybe worth mentioning
Q6600 at stock 2.4
TR Ultima 90 with 120mm fan at 420 rpm ramps to around 600 rpm under load.
cpu temps are
Idle 32 (cores 30 or less)
load reaches 52 and then drops to 47-46 once the fan settles on 600 rpm
fan is Galacialtech dual ball (only quiet one I could find in Israel) its reported 950rpm @12V
its in a SOLO with one front 92mm@7V (will be replaced soon) and tricool on low.
I often work on 50-60% CPU load for long periods. temps stay in the low 40s or high 30s

Agreeing with you there, when I saw the power consumption numbers I was amazed... so my new rig will probably be a 45Nm quad core with 4GB ram and some new fancy mobo..
