Liquid cooling

Post by Bertrand » Fri Nov 08, 2002 12:25 pm

This is a liquid cooling system; I see no reason to believe it could not work... except that you still need to refrigerate the coolant. Usually, this is done with one or two 120 mm fans blowing on a big radiator. Here they go completely fanless by radiating from a large aluminium side plate--I wonder if this is enough for the 60-80 W you may get from an Athlon system.

By putting the plate horizontally, one may turn such a PC into a perfect kitchen appliance : Surf the Web, fry your egg and bacon...

Not really fanless, and probably not silent.

From their garbled explanation it sounds like phase change, not liquid, cooling. On their "principles" page they mention a ADDA fan on the condensor.

Can't tell if the condensor is passive, like a heatpipe, or active, as in refrigeration systems. If its active, it'll be no where near quiet.
