Has anyone tried the sk-7 or compared it to the slk-800. I was planning on running a L1A at 7v or 5v on it. I have a athlon 1200 that I am putting in a new case. I had this one built and it is like an airplane turbine. I don't mind spending the money, but ten bucks is ten bucks. If the slk-800 doesn't give that big of a differance in performance might as well use the money to buy other parts.

Also, what would be the best way to connect the fan on the heatsink to undervolt it. Should I just hook it up to a modified Y splitter with a four pin molex, or is there a better solution with a fan tail straight to the motherboard.

They're very close, virtually interchangeable, tho the 800 is still a bit better. The main advantage of the 800 is its smaller footprint -- may fit in tight spots where the 7 might not.

I just installed an SK7, and it is doing way better than the stock with an 80mm fan. It's MUCH quieter too.

I'd go for either one, really. If you have an Athlon mobo with the mounting holes on the sides of the processor socket, it will almost definately fit.

I just purchased a SK-7. In most reviews it seemed to perform just
a little under the 800. I purchased a zalman fan bracket and
mounted the stock SK-7 fan on the bracket just above the Heat Sink.
I was a little concerned about the weight of the whole HS and fan. I move my computer around. With the bracket it's a less weight on the HS.
I'm running with an Athlon 1200 and the results of cooling with the SK-7 vs the stock athlon HS are about 10 - 12 degress cooler.
