Would a Pentium I heatsink be able to cool a northbridge?

Post by JarsOfFart » Sat Jan 25, 2003 10:31 pm

I have a Pentium I heatsink/fan. I was wondering if just the heatsink would be able to cool the northbridge on my Abit KR7A-Raid, which currently has a fan.

Also, I'm assuming I need to use Arctic Alumina Thermal Adhesive, not the Arctic Silver 3 Thermal Interface Material.

Thanks for the reply Rusty075.

Yes.

I have the very same motherboard and I run one of the zalman northbridge coolers. I imagine that even the smallest P1 HS would be bigger than that. (Almost have to be, given the size of the P1 core)

My board also ran perfectly fine just with stock sink with the fan removed too.
