Thermaltake volcano 7 or volcano 9?
I got a Intel celeron 800Mhz socket 370, and was thinking of buying a thermaltake volcano 7 or volcano 9. I'll probably buy a new processor in the future, to replace the old celeron with. I was thinking of 1.5 GHz or something. when I do that, I want to keep the volcano-fan.
what fan should I buy?
volcano 7

Maybe this will help:

I knew about the site because I was considering buying it. Well I have it now... unfortunately. This is what the volcano 9 does for me:
I turn the computer on. It's quiet.
10 min later, while I'm still in the bios monitoring temps, it had gradually gotten louder, to the point that you can't ignore it. (I used the automatic sensor option). It stayed at 43-45 degree with the fan at 3000-3800 rpm aprox. (all number from the bios menu)
To be fair, I have to tell you I have an unlocked athon xp 1800 overclocked to 2000 and I had to increase the voltage a little for it to be stable.
But!
I had a zalman 6000Cu flower in ther before (I had another computer so I thought I's see how the volcano 9 was). The zalman was very quiet (to the point where the idle hardrive was the loudest thing.
Both reported temps in the mid 40s (bios reading).
I highly don't recommend a volcano 9. Even at lowest rpm the fan had an annoying tone/(vibration-clicking?) to it.
