Fanless Celeron 466mhz (socket) possible?

Post by Spoon » Wed Mar 19, 2003 10:22 pm

I got a celly 466 that i am kinda using as a server but want to run it fanless.. Is this Possible The fan on it seems pretty weak looking..

I also wnat to try to run the PSU without a fan but too many horror stories for me to try that... yet!!!!

The mobo is some small gigabyte thing with one pci slot i will get sum details when i go home and post it....

would i have to under clock it?

I've ran a PII 400 and a pIII 650 fanless.. these were both slot 1 CPU's though so they had huge heatsinks.

In addition the PSU had a fan blowing inwards onto the CPU... so they did have air flowing across them.

What kind of fan?

Cos i am tying to go silent....

also means might need a bigger heatsink for my cpu cos the one on it sucks it is a flimsy tiny crappy one...
