I installed Noctua NF-U12F with dual fan solution with AS5. Now when I surf web, my idles are 47 degree celsius (AMD 64-bit 3000+ with Venice core). With Sycthe Ninja earlier with 1x 800 rpm Noctua it was around 43 degrees.
Although I did some Folding... 18 hours straight folding 100% CPU usage but temperatures barely rose above 49 degrees (according speedfan)? But fter quitting folding and 2 hours after, Idles: 47 degrees?!
This means war. My MB seems to show some temperatures incorrectly, but this is ridicioules, therefore, when my girlfriend goes sleeping, I shall remove motherboard, I will install Scythe Ninja with 1300 RPM NCB fan @ 7v using Zalman STG-1.
Its time for the big guns! *growls*
P.S. I updated bios and no good in temperature readings.
Edit: And yes, AMD C'n'Q is enabled.
AMD-64 bit 3000+ 47 degrees Celsius Idle?!

47 in idle is way too high, that's obvious. So is 43. Even more so with Ninja or Noctua. What mobo do you have? Do you still have the original box cooler or can you borrow it from someone? Or any other low performance cooler? That would let you know whether your temp sensors are OOO. Or maybe your sensors don't play well with software.
Sorry, I have to ask that - are you 100% sure your C'n'Q works fine? (Your power settings is set to minimal power management).
See if Right Mark CPU Clock utility makes any change.
What software do you use to check the temps? Everest? CoreTemp? SpeedFan? Mobo manufacturer utility?
I idle at 33 with Ninja and Fander 92 barely spinning. My friend's 3200+ Venice @ stock idles at 36-37 with AC Alpine 64 @ 1300 RPM.

I have Epox EP-9HEAI motherboard. Now I tried with boxed cooler, huge vaccum cleaner, temps 45 to 47 degrees celsius. So yeah, there is something very wrong in my MB, since in my Epox nForce4 mb, my 3500+ Venice runs 34 degrees celsius or below.
I've tried CPU swap and its definately from motherboard. When I put ths 3000+ on nForce 4, it goes below 35 celsius instantly.

I'm thinking that too. Bios looks same what Everest Home, Latest Speedfan and Epox own Ghost Monitor / Thunderprobe. So yeah I think MB's temperature sensor is pretty messed.Vicotnik wrote:Are you monitoring the correct sensor? It's usually easy to tell which one is the CPU sensor since the temp fluctuates very quickly depending on load (especially if you undervolt at idle). 43C idle to 49C load, could be the MB sensor if you ask me.
