ASUS P5N-E SLI /w Scythe Ninja rev.1?

Post by noac » Fri Jan 26, 2007 6:20 pm

Hello all fellow [wo/]men with low tolerance for fan sounds!

I'm upgrading from a P5N32-SLI Deluxe - D830 - P180 /w S12-500 system to a P5N-E SLI - E6600 - P150 system.

I want to use my original Ninja on my new mobo but I'm not sure it will fit. The nb heatsink looks awfully big. Anyone have this combo or know if it does or does not fit? Anyone care to venture a good guess?

I had a similar problem when asking around whether the ninja would fit my board, my solution was to grab the dimensions of the ninja from the scythe website then build a mockup of the heatsink out of paper. It may be a primitive solution but it worked for me.

It should fit just fine. The Ninja has a pretty large rise fro the base to the fins, as a result it actually fits most MB's...

I'm guessing you already know your answer, but my rig includes a P5N-E SLI with a Ninja rev.b and it fits just fine. Getting to the thumbscrews is a bit fiddly, but then it's fiddly on any motherboard I believe.

This might help. When I installed a P5N, with Ninja rev. B, into a Sonata I case.
