Samurai Rev. B or Freezer Pro 7?

Post by aztec » Wed Feb 07, 2007 11:55 pm

Building on a QuadGT and e6600 for a friend.

Which of the 2 coolers do you guys thing will do a better job at cooling, with everything at stock speed.

Case will be an Antec 1650b (120mm exhaust)

both are ~US$30, so price really isn't a concern.

Thanks!

I have a Freezer Pro 7 on a E6600 which is running @ 3Ghz and the fan is running silently at around 1000rpm using speedfan. The CPU temp is somewhere between 35-55 depending on the load. So I can recommend this cooler. If you want to do more crazy OC then I would look for anynother cooler, eg. the Scythe Ninja.

Thanks. I was leaning towards the Freezer myself.

No OC at all, my friend will actually be using this as a Photoshop workstation of sorts.

Given my experience with the Freezer 64 Pro, I think the Samurai should do better, and also should be quieter than the Freezer.

edit: added conditional ;)
