i want to put the zalman northbridge heatsink (nb32j) on my Gigabyte 8IHXP mobo (intel 850E chipset). however, the only possible method is to attach the heatsink onto the chipset via the "thermal adhesive" (instead of the more favorable clip method with thermal grease). as it would be impossible to remove the heatsink after using thermal adhesive with it on the 850E chip, i would like some input before i proceed. thanks everyone!

I just put one of those onto my Epox 8k9a2+. *shrug* I guess you've just gotta make the decision hehe.
I used some Arctic Alumina thermal adhesive instead of the stuff which comes with the Zalman. Should improve the heat transfer (for $22 it better! :p)

another question: if i were to install a heatsink on my northbridge chip, should I place the thermal grease or thermal adhesive on the "raised" rectangular core portion of the chip? i just noticed this that the northbridge core is not flat. thanks!
