Does SLK-900U fit on D865PERL?

Post by MortySnerd » Thu Jun 05, 2003 10:28 am

Just wondering if anyone here has or has seen a SLK-900U fit on a stock Intel D865PERL. The north bridge on this board looks like it's very close to the CPU.

Im almost certain that it will fit since the SLK-900U wont overhang the NB HS at all.

That is the exact question That I have been asking. That tall NB looks like it may get in the way?

I think the 900U mounts so that it overhangs the capacitors and not the NB and it looks like there is enough room on the other side to not run into the RAM. It won't stick out toward the NB and further than a stock cooler. (Unless I am looking at the mounting orientation turned 90º.)

Thanks for the info. A picture truly is worth a thousand words.

I was thinking of the big round Zalman behemoth.
