Two sk7 questions

Post by johnoh » Fri Jun 06, 2003 9:34 am

1) Anyone know of any data as to how an sk7 does against an slk800 with a 5v low rpm fan? I've only seen data for "normal speeds" and wonder if the small difference between the two is the same at low airflow.

2) I have a 4" plastic dryer vent taped to my 80mm fan which is clipped to my sk7. Works great. But what a pain it is to deinstall/reinstall the sk7 since I can barely see anything and the caps on my k7vta3 are in the way on the side. I'm wondering if its possible to mod the sk7 to use the 4 screw holes around the socket instead so I can forget about using clips. I also like the security of the holes since I move my machine a lot.

Thanks.

1) heres one comparing them at two different fan speeds (higher than speeds you'd get at 5volts) with only two data points and not that far apart, its difficult to say what happens at lower speeds.

2) centerline of the holes on my mobo is 2.6" and the base of the heatsink is only 2.6" long - so no go. (I wonder if they did this on purpose?)
