Final P4 Cooling soulution.

Post by markanini » Sun Jun 15, 2003 7:25 am

Okay, I made a simmilar thread but when you got fifteen replies and you ask a question people wont be reading it so much.
So please bear with me if you think this is double post, but i still have some questions and I will make a article and post what results i get.

Here ar my questions then.

Heatsinkfan.
Zalman 6500Cu or 7000Cu? Or should I buy a seperate heatsink and fan? What results would I get? And should I care about what thermal paste I use?

Case fans
What 120 mm fans should I get that cool efficinently and silently?

Motherboard and fancontrol
I thinking about getting a Asus P4P800. How does it work for controling fans? I woul like to have the motherboard control fans automaticly when temps rise. Is there a better choice the the asus? Or should I get a seperate fancontroler?

Thanks.

I switched from a Zalman 6500 to a 7000 (both all Cu). I have a Lian Li case, and the fan bracket places the fan on the 6500 close to the side of the case, which makes it appear to be louder. In the 7000, the fan is much deeper into the case, making its apparent sound quieter. They about the same cooling ability.
