Sup SPCR!
I recently bought a CM Hyper212+ and was put off by the noisy fan it came with, so I grabbed two CM 120mm fans:

to replace the stock, and they're better (and glow blue ) but I'm wondering if there's a better option, or would I be throwing too much money at this $30 cooler?

I take it you've read the review? Depending where you are, you could grab some cheap Nexus/Yate Loons. I hear YL fans are dirt cheap in the US.

Actually I forgot to mention that one of my goals was to get my CPU to 4GHz (i5 750) and I can achieve that, but the temps are a little high, so I'm going for a dynamic overclock including fan acoustic adjustments for when I'm not using the CPU heavily (plus the difference between stock and 4GHz is sadly very little in games)...
I was looking at the Nexus fans, and they are about $8 each in Canada...
SPCR gave the slipstream pwm fan that comes with the Mugen 2 a glowing review. http://www.silentpcreview.com/article961-page5.html - But, you can't buy that fan in Canada.
Or can you? Yes, you can, with a quirk.
Scythe SY1225SL12HPVS KAZE-JYUNI Slip Stream 120MM PWM & V.R Selectable Fan 1500RPM - $10.16 CDN

Quirky bit is what to do with the VR controller plate, but if you have extra slots, not an issue. Added one to my Mugen 2 and it matches the stock slipstream perfectly. As it should it's the same model.
If you don't care about PWM, then you could go for the spcr highly rated fluid bearing S-FLEX fans for $10.57 each.
Either the S-FLEX E 1200 rpm
http://www.directcanada.com/products/?s ... ure=SCYTHE
or for more air and noise the S-FLEX F 1600 rpm
http://www.directcanada.com/products/?s ... ure=SCYTHE
SPCR S-FLEX review: http://www.silentpcreview.com/article69 ... html#sflex
Or you could get the Nexus....but where's the sport in that?
Good luck with you *quiet* overclock!
