what is scurk 3000?

Yes, the fanmate is used to control the speed of a fan.

good move.

Also do some googling. Somewhere out there someone has some step by step instructions for mounting the Big Shuriken on the Zotac. Read those instructions before you do it yourself. Those instructions might even me on this website. I do remember they have some pictures.

Come back with some pictures when you get it built.

Here is a low cost / no cost interim step you might consider.

Yes: at anyway, I was thinking about the Zalman PWM Mate, not the standard Zalman Fan Mate 2.

This latter would fit the TriCool switch housing (if you go for the Antec ISK300), so check if the PWM Mate has compatible dimensions (see the relevant SPCR review).

On the other hand, IIRC my own testings, the Scythe's fan should work even when voltage controlled, so even the inexpensive regular Zalman Fan Mate 2 might work well.

Give a try to your Zotac BIOS: usually it's not so great at fan control, and usually it's not compatible with SpeedFan.
If it is so, then you deserve a Zalman Fan Mate (PWM or 2) to comfortably/effectively dial down the fan.
